Welcome to the FIRST year for Academic Decathlon @ San Luis High School!

This year, students have been recommended for placement in a class titled: Academic Decathlon. Students were recommended based on the following criteria:

  • Willingness to work hard,
  • Intellect, and
  • Ability to work with others.

Academic Decathlon offers students from all learning levels an opportunity to compete against other teams in an academic competition, which includes ten subject area tests, an essay, a speech, an interview, and a quiz bowl.

Students in the course:

  1. Do NOT have to participate on the team, and
  2. Might NOT be choosen to participate on the team.

Since there are only 9 slots available and many more students in the course, there will not be room for everyone on the team. However, the reason we have scheduled a class is–the true test of Academic Decathlon is in TEAMWORK. Throughout the year, YOU will be teaching and learning from each other! Studying together and learning together will strengthen our team and will provide a greater opportunity for success!

Let’s work hard this year to prove San Luis can compete with the best!!!
